HakoSanpo is an AR mobile tourism application whose aim is to provide a unique tourism experience in the city of Hakodate (Japan).
The main objective was to provide information on the city of Hakodate during a touristic trip in town.
The peculiarity of HakoSanpo is that it is based on an Augmented Reality feature that allows to scan city buildings with the smartphone camera to get information about the building in question.
For such a feature to be exploited at its best, fluid navigation and relevant content were essential to set solid foundations concerning the use of the application during a trip.
The application thus provides information about the major tourist sites, but also guided tours in the city, as well as suggestions of places to visit based on the places already visited and on the current position of the user.
Student project realised at the Future University of Hakodate.
